October 11, 2025 — The Fair Haven Fire Department (FHFD) celebrated Fire Prevention Week 2025 with a series of educational visits to local schools, spreading awareness and safety lessons to more than 750 children across the community.

Throughout the week, FHFD members visited Smart Start, Meadowflower, Sickles, and Knollwood Schools, delivering interactive demonstrations on fire safety, emergency preparedness, and the importance of having a home escape plan. Students enjoyed hands-on activities, meeting firefighters, and even learning how to use a fire hose.

The department expressed gratitude to the 11 volunteers who participated from the Fire Department, Auxiliary, Fire Police, and First Aid Squad for dedicating their time to this important community outreach. A special thanks was also given to Firefighter Kristina Jack for organizing the FHFD efforts this year, as well as to the teachers who enthusiastically joined in the fun.

“Fire Prevention Week is about more than just safety—it’s about inspiring confidence and awareness in our youngest residents,” said a department spokesperson. “We’re proud to help our community’s children learn lifesaving lessons in a fun and memorable way.”

The department continues to encourage all residents to review fire safety plans at home and test smoke detectors regularly.
