October 16, 2025 — Firefighters from multiple departments gathered this week for a joint training session led by Wolfschmidt Fire Training, LLC, focusing on strategies for short-staffed engine company operations — a growing challenge in today’s volunteer fire service.
Members from the Audubon Park Fire Department, West Collingswood Heights Volunteer Fire Company, Audubon Fire Department, Oaklyn Fire Department, and Mount Ephraim Fire Department participated in the comprehensive training, which emphasized tactical efficiency, communication, and coordination when operating with minimal personnel.
With volunteerism on the decline compared to decades past, training opportunities like this remain essential for maintaining readiness and ensuring effective response to emergencies. The departments thanked Mike from Wolfschmidt Fire Training for delivering valuable instruction and insights tailored to real-world conditions.
A special thank-you was also extended to ServPro, which generously provided hoagie trays for all attendees.
The evening demonstrated the strength of regional collaboration and the shared commitment among neighboring fire companies to remain prepared for any emergency.
