October 15, 2025 — Members of the East Freehold Fire Company joined forces with Freehold Township Independent Fire Company #1 to visit Richard Applegate School as part of Fire Prevention Month.
Despite rainy weather keeping activities indoors, firefighters spent time with students teaching essential fire safety lessons — including how to respond in an emergency, the importance of smoke alarms, and planning safe exits at home.
The department noted that they plan to return to the school soon, once the weather improves, to give students a hands-on tour of the fire trucks and equipment.
These educational visits are a key part of the department’s ongoing commitment to helping children and families learn how to stay safe in the event of a fire.
