Bloomfield, NJ - Firefighters at Station 2 felt a sudden shake and heard a loud noise outside the station. Upon investigating, they discovered that a tractor trailer had struck multiple utility wires and a pole, bringing them down across Watsessing Avenue.

Crews quickly checked on the driver’s safety, secured the scene, and worked to manage traffic and pedestrian movement. Firefighters also acted swiftly to contain a fast-moving transformer oil leak, preventing it from entering a nearby storm drain.

Watsessing Avenue remains closed between Bloomfield Avenue and Arlington Avenue as utility crews carry out necessary repairs. The Bloomfield Fire Department expressed appreciation to @nutley_fmba44 Hazmat 1 and @bloomfieldpolicedepartmentnj for their assistance on scene.
