Arthur "Art" Reda was an Assistant Chief with the West Paterson volunteer Fire Department. On Wednesday October 15, 2025, he was honored for his fire service career spanned 75 years, beginning in 1950 when he joined West Park Hose Company 1. He served as lieutenant and then Captain for two years, beginning in 1966. He was promoted to Assistant Chief in 1969, a position he held for 10 years. The town later became Woodland Park when the borough changed its name in 2008, but the fire department still operates under the West Paterson name. On this night the mayor and town council spoke of his dedicated service, Chief of department Paul Salomone Jr. presented Chief Reda with a beautiful statue and plaque at the event. After the event the department and guests gathered to celebrate Chief Reda's 94th birthday, they even provided a ride in their restored 1939 GMC fire engine that still resides at the firehouse.
