Lee, N.H. — September 29 — Richmond Fire Department crews joined Lee Fire Department on Monday night for a rare live burn training in an old house, providing both departments with valuable hands-on experience.

Live fire exercises in acquired structures are uncommon but give firefighters realistic practice in a controlled and safe setting. Richmond crews worked side by side with Lee firefighters and officers, advancing lines, extinguishing fires, and discussing tactics during post-burn reviews.

Richmond Fire officials said the joint training allowed members to gain “a different set of eyes,” learning new perspectives and strategies by working alongside another department. They expressed gratitude to the Lee Fire Department for its hospitality and for providing the opportunity to train in a live-fire environment.
