Mashpee, Mass. — October 2 — Mashpee Fire Department, with the Mashpee Harbormaster and Mashpee Police, held a marine medical drill at Mashpee Spit Beach simulating a cardiac arrest emergency.
Aboard Marine 1, responders performed CPR, ventilations, IV/IO access, cardiac monitoring, and medication delivery while maintaining continuous compressions.
Marine 1 transported the patient to a nearby boat ramp, where an ambulance crew continued care and transported to the hospital.
Officials said the exercise boosted teamwork and readiness for emergencies in hard-to-reach coastal areas.
