Newburgh, NY - Cronomer Valley FD was dispatched to smoke in the basement of 604 Dogwood Place on October 8th. Cronomer Valley Command requested Middlehope and Good Will Fire Departments to the scene with engines. Firefighters found that the furnace had been serviced the previous day which caused the smoke condition when it was started. Firefighters checked the residence and chimney on the roof, and set up exhaust fans. Orange County Deputy Fire Coordinator 36-13 and Town Newburgh Police were at the scene.
