York Crews Contained Salem Avenue Structure Fire

York, PA. — October 6 — The York City Department of Fire/Rescue Services received a call about a fire at a two-story home located in the 400 block of Salem Avenue. Flames were seen coming from multiple windows of the house.
Firefighters arrived at the scene within three minutes and found the burning house at the end of a row of four homes. They immediately started firefighting efforts and conducted a search of the building. No one was found inside the home.
Firefighters also worked to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby houses. The swift response and well-coordinated actions helped contain the fire to the affected structure.
Several mutual-aid agencies helped York City firefighters during the incident. These included LifeTeam EMS, West York Fire Department Reliance Station 1, West Manchester Township Fire Department, and York Area United Fire and Rescue.
The York City Police Department also contributed by providing a drone, which gave responders a better view of the scene and the building.
Volunteers also helped at the scene. This incident showed how well fire, EMS, and law enforcement work together during a residential fire in a tightly packed neighborhood.
