Strinestown Crews Extinguished Vehicle Fires After Conewago Township Crash

Conewago Township, PA. — October 2 — Strinestown Community Fire Company 26 responded to a report of a multiple-vehicle accident involving fire at the intersection of East Canal Road and Hickory Ridge Circle.
Chief 26 arrived on the scene and confirmed that multiple vehicles were involved in the crash, with both vehicles on fire. Engine 26-4 set up a water supply by connecting a hose line from a water source, ensuring a steady flow for fire suppression. Engines 26-1, 26-2, and 26-4 then worked together to put out the fires in the vehicles.
Fire Police from Station 26, Station 6, Station 89, and Station 23 helped maintain scene safety and manage traffic. Several roads near the crash site were closed to allow firefighters to operate safely.
Once the fire was fully extinguished, crews began removing debris and stabilizing the scene. Firefighters stayed at the location for approximately two hours before leaving the site.
External reports stated that the crash occurred around 7:45 p.m., with at least two vehicles catching fully fire. According to WGAL, two individuals were taken to a local hospital. Flames also spread from the vehicles to nearby trees. East Canal Road was closed for several hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.
The incident involved coordinated efforts in fire suppression, water supply, traffic control, and cleanup from multiple emergency services.
