Manchester, PA. — September 12 — Strinestown Community Fire Company 26 responded to a vehicle fire that was fully involved on Mill Creek Road after York County informed Chief 26 about the situation.

All of Station 26’s available units left Locust Point Road and moved to the vehicle fire. Because the location was far from the station, Chief 26 called in Engine 6-1 to support the response and add more fire suppression power.

When the units arrived on Mill Creek Road, Engine 26-1 set up a bumper line and started putting out the fire. Engine 26-2 also arrived and helped with the extinguishing process.

The crew worked together to control the vehicle fire and fully extinguish the remaining flames. The response allowed the department to use its engine companies and practice coordination with an assisting unit.

Strinestown Community Fire Company 26 served the Strinestown area from its station located at 5690 Susquehanna Trail in Manchester. The department was part of the York County emergency response system and provided fire protection and emergency services to the surrounding community.

When dealing with vehicle fires, crews had to consider factors like fuel and electrical systems and other potential hazards while creating a safe working area. Engine company training and coordinated mutual-aid responses helped the crews handle these incidents effectively.
