Highgate, Vt. — September 12 — The Highgate Volunteer Fire Department’s annual child passenger safety event on Friday drew more families than expected, running 90 minutes past the scheduled end time.
Six certified technicians volunteered to inspect and adjust car seats, helping parents and caregivers ensure safer travel for their children.
Officials credited the strong turnout to community engagement and the department’s ongoing focus on injury prevention and public education.
