September 19, Sheldon, Vermont — Using Sheldon Engine 2, firefighters from the Sheldon Fire Department performed a practical pump operations exercise. Using several handlines and truck-mounted monitors, fifteen members practiced with both front and side intakes while drafting water from the mill canal. To keep skills up to date and guarantee preparedness for emergencies in the real world, the department conducts drills every Thursday night.
