Oct. 3, 2025 — At 2:15 a.m. Friday, the East Campbell Volunteer Fire Department (Department 15) was dispatched to a fully involved structure fire.
Alongside East Campbell, Painted Post and Campbell fire departments were dispatched on the first alarm box assignment. Painted Post 2802 arrived first on scene and immediately called for a second alarm, which brought in additional resources:
- Tankers from Hornby and Gang Mills
- Engine and manpower from Corning Joint District
- Engine to the fill site from Thurston
Meanwhile, Bath Fire Department was placed on standby at Painted Post’s quarters, and Coopers Plains was put on standby in their own quarters.
Firefighters worked diligently under challenging conditions and were able to bring the fire under control by approximately 3:45 a.m. Department 15 cleared the scene and was back in service at 6:29 a.m.
The department extended thanks to all assisting agencies, including law enforcement and AMR, for their critical support.
