On Saturday August 30th Mastic Fire Department was activated along with Mastic Ambulance for a vehicle Crash with reported entrapment on Moriches Middle Island Rd at Carnation Dr in North Shirley at about 12:43 PM . Dispatchers reported that 1 person was trapped in 1 of the Vehicles.
Assistant Chief Rudy Sunderman of the Mastic Fire Department arrived on scene and advised that all occupants were out of the vehicle. Sunderman advised members of Engine 5-12-1 that there was heavy cleanup needed and they needed to secure 2 vehicles.
While Firefighters were cleaning up fluids and Debris and securing the vehicles EMT’s from Mastic and Manorville Ambulance under the command of Mastic ambulance Chief of Department Mike Ryan evaluated the occupants of both vehicles for injuries. 1 person was taken to a local hospital by Manorville Ambulance Company. The scene was turned over to SCPD a Short time later.
