Station 35 was dispatched to a reported car fire on Box 53-02. Upon arrival, Engine 35 stretched a line and extinguished the fire. Engine 53 and Engine 41 provided assistance by opening the trunk and checking the nearby field after molten metal exploded and ignited patches of grass. Additional personnel worked to prevent runoff water from entering the storm drain. Once the tow truck arrived, crews cleared the scene shortly thereafter.
