BATAVIA, N.Y., Sept. 15, 2025 — On Monday morning, the City of Batavia Fire Department conducted a department-wide training session focused on firefighter survival skills and FAST (Firefighter Assist and Search Team) scenarios.
The exercise emphasized techniques for extracting a downed firefighter, a critical skillset designed to improve safety and effectiveness during real emergencies.
Regular survival and rescue training ensures firefighters remain prepared to protect not only the public but also their fellow crew members when seconds count.
