BERGEN, N.Y., Sept. 15, 2025 — The Bergen Fire Department responded Sunday afternoon to a brush fire on West Bergen Road. Thanks to calm weather conditions and a quick response, firefighters were able to contain the fire before it could spread further.
Officials reminded residents that extremely dry conditions remain a concern in the area. Even a small spark can become dangerous under the right circumstances.
The department urged the public to use extra caution when burning brush and to remain vigilant in preventing outdoor fires.
“Stay safe, and thank you for helping us protect our community,” the department said in a statement.
