September 10, 2025 — Firefighters from the West Corners Fire Department participated in specialized FAST Board training Tuesday night, joined by members of the West Endicott Fire Department.
The FAST Board is a tool designed to help rescuers quickly and efficiently remove downed firefighters or civilians from hazardous environments. Training focused on building familiarity with the equipment and practicing the rapid, coordinated teamwork required during real-world emergencies.
Department officials emphasized that this type of hands-on training is vital to ensuring firefighters are ready to respond not only to community emergencies but also to situations where one of their own may be in danger.
By regularly practicing with life-saving tools like the FAST Board, West Corners and West Endicott firefighters continue to strengthen their readiness and ability to serve the community under the most challenging conditions.
