Branford Crews Rescue Driver After Vehicle Goes Over Seawall

Branford, Conn. — September 3 — On Thursday afternoon, emergency responders arrived following a vehicle that had driven off a seawall on Linden Avenue and ended up resting on a rocky shoreline beside Long Island Sound.
Units from the Branford Fire Department Car 6, Engine 9, Rescue 2, and Medic 1 responded to the incident. Firefighters secured the vehicle and entered it safely before helping to remove the operator. A single patient was taken to a nearby hospital for assessment. There were no reported injuries among firefighters.
United Towing eventually removed the vehicle from the shoreline. Fire officials stated that crews verified no fluids or other contaminants were discharged into Long Island Sound.
