Old Mystic Crews Respond to Ledyard House Fire

— September 21 — On Monday evening, eight members of the Old Mystic Fire Department responded to Ledyard to help with a house fire that was still burning. 

Around 6:30 p.m., The Town of Ledyard requested additional assistance from the Old Mystic Fire Department G-62. Eight firefighters from the Old Mystic station responded to the incident. 

The response was part of the regional collaboration among local fire departments during active firefighting operations. Firefighters from Ledyard responded to a home on Colonel Ledyard Highway around 6:17 p.m. due to a reported kitchen fire. Firefighters laid out a hose line and managed to bring the fire under control. No people or animals were harmed, and officials stated the fire posed no threat to a nearby barn.
