Avon Crews Responded to MVA on Thompson Road

Avon, CT — September 22 — The Avon Volunteer Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Thompson Road and Old Farms Road.

Emergency personnel were working in the area as the scene was being managed.

Drivers were advised to exercise caution and, if possible, avoid the intersection while firefighters and other emergency responders were operating near the roadway.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department later confirmed that the scene had been cleared by approximately 8:30 p.m.

The Avon Volunteer Fire Department is an all-volunteer organization that offers fire protection, rescue support, and other emergency services across the town of Avon.

The department runs six companies and has various emergency vehicles on standby, such as rescue units, ladder trucks, tankers, and pumpers. Members of the department also assist with fire police duties during motor vehicle incidents, helping to ensure a safe environment for emergency crews.
