CALIFON, N.J. — September 23 — On Tuesday evening the Califon Fire Company conducted a water rescue training session on the local river, focusing on techniques that are critical when every second matters in a real incident.

Under controlled conditions, the team practiced deploying tensioned diagonals and using throw bags in different rescue scenarios. More experienced members, who have completed advanced water rescue training, guided newer firefighters through each step. The training emphasized both technique and teamwork.
