Inter-County Mutual Aid: Bushnell’s Basin Rigs Roll to Assist Victor at Working House Fire

Bushnell's Basin, NY - Firefighters were dispatched to battle an active residential structure fire early Saturday morning, drawing mutual aid apparatus and frontline crews into the Victor Fire District.

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on September 5, emergency communications alerted area first responders to a working house fire in Victor. With active flames threatening the residential property, command requested mutual aid to bolster operational staffing on the fireground.

Responding to the call, the Bushnell’s Basin Fire Department dispatched Engine 313 alongside Chief Officer 3C-31 to provide frontline pumping capability and interior personnel. Upon arrival, the mutual aid crew integrated directly into fireground operations alongside Victor firefighters.

Crews deployed handlines for fire suppression, performed coordinated ventilation to relieve heavy heat and smoke conditions within the dwelling, and carried out primary searches to ensure all areas were clear. Firefighters worked through suppression and overhaul operations to locate hidden pockets of fire within the structural voids, bringing the blaze fully under control before returning to service.
