Westville, N.J. — August 29 — The Westville Fire Department conducted a high-volume water supply drill on Friday evening at Ryan Avenue as part of its ongoing training program to improve operational readiness.

The exercise focused on transitioning from normal suppression lines to larger waterlines capable of handling increased flow operations. Engine Company 733 utilized 500 feet of 4-inch supply line and two 2½-inch blitz fire ground monitors. Rescue Company 738 set up a hydrant connection and operated as the supply engine. Crews then hand-jacked an additional 500 feet of 4-inch line from Engine 733 to Rescue 738, allowing water to be pumped via two supply lines. This design allowed Engine 733 to operate its deck cannon at full capacity while retaining 50 pounds of residual pressure.
