Reports of Entrapment and Heavy Fire Bring Saratoga County Task Force to Early-Morning Wilton Blaze

WILTON, NY — A reported structure fire with possible occupants trapped brought a second-alarm response and multiple mutual-aid companies to Wilton.

Wilton Fire Department was dispatched at 5:28 a.m. on September 19. While responding, Car 71 received reports of visible fire and possible entrapment, prompting command to transmit a second alarm and request additional resources.

Saratoga Springs Fire Department responded with a FAST to support crews operating at the scene. Additional tankers from Maple Avenue, Corinth and Greenfield Center were requested to assist with water supply operations.

Saratoga County fire coordinators, National Grid and fire investigators also responded as firefighters worked to bring the incident under control.

With multiple companies committed to the fireground, regional resources were moved to provide coverage for additional calls. Malta Ridge, Schuyler Hose, Ballston Spa, Middle Grove and Porter Corners provided station coverage during the incident.

The response brought together fire companies and support agencies from across Saratoga County while Wilton crews operated at the structure fire.
