Commack Fire Mobilizes to Dix Hills for Over-an-Hour Mutual Aid Assignment

Commack, NY - Firefighters and chief officers from the Commack Fire Department deployed into neighboring Dix Hills on Monday evening, providing mutual aid support during an active residential structure fire in western Suffolk County.

On the evening of September 7, Commack was requested to assist the Dix Hills Fire Department with apparatus and manpower as crews operated at a working house fire.

Responding units included Chief 31, Chief 33, and Engine 3. Upon arrival on scene, Commack personnel integrated into incident operations, assisting Dix Hills interior attack and truck company crews with suppression, perimeter support, and overhaul evolutions to check for fire extension within the dwelling.

Crews operated on the fireground for just over an hour before completing their assignment and returning to service in Commack.
