On the evening of Wednesday, September 10, 2025, members of the Ferrisburgh Fire Department successfully completed their annual Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) re-certification testing. The rigorous process ensures that all interior firefighters remain physically fit and fully capable of performing demanding tasks in hazardous, smoke-filled, or oxygen-deficient environments.
The re-certification tests include air consumption drills, navigating simulated fire scenarios, and emergency don-and-doff exercises — all designed to maintain high standards of safety, readiness, and operational efficiency. The training underscores the department’s dedication not only to meeting regulatory or insurance benchmarks, but to protecting both their personnel and the community they serve.
