Single-Vehicle Crash on Bluefield Road: Fleming Fire and EMS Respond to Intersection Collision

Auburn, NY - Emergency personnel from the Fleming Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident with personal injury Saturday afternoon in Cayuga County, securing the crash site and transporting one patient for medical care.


At approximately 3:15 p.m. (1515 hours) on September 12, Fleming Ambulance and Rescue was dispatched to the intersection of Bluefield Road and Dietrich Road following reports of a vehicle collision with injuries.


First-responding apparatus included Chief Car 3, Truck 1, Engine 2, and Fleming Ambulance 1. Upon arrival, Chief Car 3 established command and confirmed a single vehicle had left the roadway. The sole occupant of the vehicle had successfully self-extricated prior to the arrival of emergency crews and was evaluated on scene for minor injuries.


Fire crews established scene safety, evaluated the vehicle for fluid leaks and battery hazards, and assisted with traffic control in the surrounding intersection.


Fleming Ambulance 1 provided on-scene medical assessment and transported the injured driver to Auburn Community Hospital (ACH) for further medical evaluation.
