On-Scene Fireground Rehab: Elmira Heights Aids City of Elmira During Southside Emergency

Elmira Heights, NY - Firefighters provided multi-phase mutual aid support Monday evening, deploying frontline suppression apparatus and specialized rehabilitation resources to assist city crews at a structural fire on the Southside.


At approximately 6:59 p.m. (1859 hours) on September 7, the Elmira Heights Fire Department was dispatched on mutual aid to assist the City of Elmira Fire Department (IAFF Local 709) with an active structure fire.


Elmira Heights Engine 731 responded with a full crew of personnel to bolster fireground operations alongside city suppression teams. As firefighting efforts progressed through the evening, incident command requested the Elmira Heights Rehab Unit to the scene to provide critical hydration, vital sign monitoring, and rest support for working interior and exterior crews.


Following extensive operations on the Southside, Elmira Heights personnel and apparatus completed their assignments and cleared the scene at approximately 9:30 p.m. (2130 hours).
