On Wednesday, 11 September 2025, the New Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department paid tribute to Christopher Blackwell and all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, marking the 24th anniversary of the attacks.

A commemorative remembrance ceremony was scheduled at the New Fairfield Senior Center beginning at 5:30 p.m., where community members, first responders, and local officials gathered to honor the fallen.

Department officials reaffirmed their commitment to never forgetting the sacrifices made that day, emphasizing that the memory of Christopher Blackwell and his fellow heroes continues to inspire the fire service and the community at large.
