Shirley, NY- On Saturday August 31, 2024 at just before 2PM the Suffolk County emergency dispatch center received a call for a report of a motor vehicle crash on South Bound William Floyd Parkway near Roberts Rd. Dispatchers sent the Brookhaven Fire Department and Shirley Ambulance to the location. On arrival responders found a 3-vehicle crash in the right lane of the highway.
Under the command of Brookhaven FD 2nd Assistant Chief Hudson Darrow, the crew from Rescue 4 arrived on scene and went to work securing the vehicles and ensuring that all the fluids were cleaned up. While the fire department operated 2 crews from Shirley Ambulance checked on the drivers and occupants of all the vehicles. At least 1 person was taken to a local hospital. The scene was turned over to Suffolk County Police a short time later.
