Newton Abbott FAST Goes to Work at Garage Fire

HAMBURG, NY — Newton Abbott Fire Company responded on mutual aid to a residential structure fire in the Reserve fire district on September 22. Newton Abbott’s FAST was requested at 3:28 p.m. as crews operated at a fire involving an attached garage, with extension threatening the residence. Upon arrival, the FAST crew was reassigned to interior operations. Firefighters conducted primary searches, confirmed the civilian occupants were out and assisted with opening walls and ceilings to locate and extinguish remaining fire.

Newton Abbott personnel operated alongside Reserve and other mutual-aid crews for approximately one hour before being released from the scene.
