Highway Accident Response: Chief 30 and Engine 303 Handle Vehicle Fluid Runoff in Bridgewater

BRIDGEWATER , NJ — Emergency personnel operated along a busy highway corridor Saturday evening, mitigating environmental hazards and securing the roadway following a motor vehicle collision.


At approximately 5:35 p.m. (1735 hours) on August 22, the Finderne Fire Department (Bridgewater Township Fire District #4) in Somerset County was dispatched to the intersection of US Highway 22 East and Adamsville Road for a reported motor vehicle accident.


Department command and suppression crews responded to the scene aboard Chief 30, Assistant 30, and Engine 303. Firefighters assessed the involved vehicles, established scene safety along the active highway lanes, and deployed specialized absorbent materials to contain and neutralize a hazardous automotive fluid spill across the pavement.
