Dunellen, NJ - Firefighters deployed specialized aerial apparatus on mutual aid Sunday night to assist regional fire companies battling a massive, multi-alarm mulch fire.
On August 30, Truck 4 from Dunellen Defender Fire Company 1 was dispatched into the Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick, Middlesex County. The call was part of an extensive, multi-county mutual aid mobilization requested to contain a heavy, deep-seated mulch pile fire requiring vast suppression and elevated master stream capabilities.
Operating on the fireground, the crew aboard Dunellen Truck 4 integrated alongside multiple mutual aid departments, providing elevated stream operations and tactical support to help knock down deep-seated hot spots and bring the multi-alarm blaze under control.
