Non-Stop Shuttle Operations: Jamesburg Tanker Crew Bolsters Suppression at Stubborn Rubbish Blaze

Jamesburg, NJ - Firefighters operated through an exhausting, seven-hour tactical water shuttle Sunday afternoon, delivering over 50,000 gallons of water to frontline crews battling a large commercial rubbish fire.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on August 30, the Jamesburg Fire Department was dispatched on mutual aid to assist the Monmouth Junction Volunteer Fire Department in South Brunswick, Middlesex County. The department was activated as part of the Middlesex County Tanker Task Force to supply emergency water for a massive, deep-seated rubbish fire on Broadway Road that required continuous, high-volume master streams.

Operating in a relentless fill-and-dump cycle, Jamesburg crews conducted continuous water shuttle operations between static fill sites and portable fireground drop tanks. Over the course of the seven-hour deployment, the crew completed 15 full tanker loads, delivering approximately 52,500 gallons of water directly to the fireground to keep master streams flowing without interruption before being released from the scene.
