Fast Knockdown: South Plainfield Engine 6 Extinguishes Working Car Fire on Hadley Road

S PLAINFIELD, NJ — Firefighters made quick work of an early morning vehicle blaze Saturday, coordinating with regional hazardous materials technicians to contain fuel and fluid runoff along the roadway.

The emergency dispatch occurred at approximately 5:03 a.m. (0503 hours) on August 29, sending the South Plainfield Volunteer Fire Department to Hadley Road in Middlesex County for a reported vehicle fire.

First-arriving Engine 6 confirmed a working vehicle fire and immediately stretched an attack line to begin aggressive fire suppression, swiftly knocking down the flames before they could compromise surrounding areas. Due to active fluid leaks escaping from the damaged vehicle, incident command requested a response from the Middlesex County Hazmat team (FMBA Local 100) to isolate, contain, and remediate the hazardous runoff, successfully securing the roadway before clearing the scene.
