8 September 2025 — Holderness Fire Department members, with assistance from Ashland, Plymouth, Campton, and Thornton crews, successfully carried out a weekend rescue on the Brooks Fisher Trail off Perch Pond Road.
The injured hiker’s wife praised the rapid response, noting:
“Husband fell at 11:45, and the response team was there by 12:15–12:30, which we thought was pretty darn good considering we were a mile up in the woods off of Perch Pond Road!”
She highlighted the professionalism of responders, naming Randy Eastman at the trailhead and recalling that the first two rescuers on scene were “the guy with the #2 on his back” and Darren Siek.
The department extended gratitude to all who participated, emphasizing the value of teamwork in challenging backcountry rescues.
