September 3, 2025 — The Greenville Fire Department has recognized Lieutenant Samuel Spencer Jr. as its Employee of the Month for September.
Lt. Spencer was honored for his consistent dedication, mentorship, and leadership. Over the past month, he has worked tirelessly to guide a newly recruited firefighter, ensuring they are both prepared and confident in their role.
Known for his love of the ladder truck, Lt. Spencer is often seen at the top, fearlessly putting water on the fire and leading by example.
“Thank you, Lieutenant Spencer, for staying teachable, for teaching others, and for helping secure the future of fire service through your passion and perseverance,” the department said.
