Alna Fire Department Responded to Vehicle Crash on Route 194

ALNA, ME — August 26 — The Alna Volunteer Fire Department, located at Alna Road, Alna, ME, United States, 04535, responded to a motor vehicle accident on Route 194.A vehicle had left the roadway and driven into a ditch.


Seven firefighters from Alna arrived at the scene and worked alongside the Wiscasset Ambulance Service to assist with the driver’s extrication.

The firefighters also helped secure the area, coordinated with a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy, and managed traffic while the patient was removed and the situation was handled.


This response highlighted the kind of teamwork typically needed in rural motor vehicle crashes, where fire, emergency medical services, law enforcement, and traffic control efforts are combined.

Alna’s fire department continues to operate as a volunteer-based emergency service, offering fire and emergency response to the local community.According to the department’s annual report for 2023, there were 49 emergency calls and over 1,100 training hours recorded.


The incident on Route 194 showed the importance of trained firefighters and the effectiveness of coordinated support during roadway emergencies.
