Pennsauken, NJ - Mutual aid firefighters moved quickly over the weekend to contain an active garage fire before heavy flames could spread to adjacent properties.

The call dispatched regional fire units on Saturday, September 5, to the 600 block of Autumn Avenue in the Borough of Collingswood, Camden County, for a reported structure fire.

Arriving as the first-due suppression unit, Pennsauken Fire Department’s Engine 113, operating alongside Battalion 11, went straight to work on a working fire within a detached garage. Firefighters deployed an attack handline, initiated a fast knockdown of the active fire, and conducted overhaul to check for hidden extension, successfully keeping the blaze contained to the building of origin.
