TRUMBULL, Conn. (Sept. 11, 2025) — Members of Long Hill Volunteer Fire Company paused Thursday to honor the victims and responders lost in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
Nearly 3,000 people were killed 24 years ago, including 343 New York City firefighters, 23 police officers and 37 Port Authority officers.
In a statement, Long Hill firefighters said they honor the courage and sacrifice of those who died and recognize the survivors, families and responders who continue to carry the weight of that day.
“As firefighters, we remain committed to the same values they embodied: service, bravery and selflessness,” the company said.
