Alna Crews Assisted Wiscasset at Bradford Road Fire

Alna, ME — August 16 — The Alna Volunteer Fire Department provided mutual aid to the Wiscasset Fire Department on Sunday evening for a structure fire on Bradford Road.Alna was called to the scene at 7:26 p.m.and sent five firefighters along with Truck 3 to assist with the operation.
Truck 3 was tasked with supplying water to the attack engine, while the Alna firefighters helped the Wiscasset crews during the incident.
This support added more personnel and equipment to the fireground, aiding the crews in their efforts to bring the fire under control.
The fire occurred at a detached garage located at 243 Bradford Road.
It caused major damage to the building and its contents.No injuries were reported.After the incident, investigators found that the fire started in an area where cordless power tools, rechargeable batteries, and chargers were stored.However, a specific cause of the ignition was not identified.
This response strengthened the mutual-aid partnership between Alna and Wiscasset, which often supports each other during emergency situations.
