Lisbon, ME - Firefighters from the Lisbon Fire Department and several surrounding mutual aid agencies battled a stubborn structure fire early Sunday morning at 51 Gould Road, mounting an extended suppression and overhaul operation that stretched well into the day.

Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026, following reports of a working structure fire. First-arriving units encountered heavy fire conditions within the building, prompting an immediate call for regional mutual aid to assist with continuous water shuttle operations, suppression attacks, and personnel rotations.

Crews brought the main body of fire under control after prolonged operations, remaining on the scene through the late morning hours to conduct extensive overhaul, open compromised walls, and wet down hidden hotspots to prevent rekindling.

Investigators from the Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office were called to the scene to assist local officials in determining the origin and cause of the blaze within the Androscoggin County community. Fire apparatus and command units maintained safety perimeters and managed local roadway impacts throughout the duration of the investigation and mop-up efforts.
