LANCASTER, N.Y. (Aug. 31, 2025) — Town Line Volunteer Fire Department crews responded to a series of calls Sunday that began with a morning crash and stretched into the afternoon.
The first call came at 9:20 a.m. when a vehicle struck a power pole on Broadway near Bowen. No injuries were reported, but the crash caused outages and required firefighters to direct traffic.
Later, alarms activated in two buildings at the Edgewater Apartments, where smoke filled electrical rooms and lights were damaged by a power surge. Crews returned a short time later for another alarm activation at the complex.
Traffic duties wrapped up about six hours after the initial call, officials said. Mutual aid was provided by the Lancaster Fire Department and Twin District Volunteer Fire Company.
