NORTH COLLINS, N.Y. (Aug. 27, 2025) — More than 50 firefighters gathered Wednesday evening in North Collins for a seminar on thermal imaging cameras, hosted by the New York State Association of Fire Chiefs.

Instructor Bill Hanrahan led the session, which focused on how cameras can aid in firefighting, victim searches and other rescue operations.

Attendees included members of the North Collins Fire Company as well as firefighters from Langford-New Oregon, Seneca, Collins, Eden No. 1, East Eden and Sunset Bay departments.

Officials said the training underscored the importance of keeping pace with emerging technology in the fire service.
