ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Aug. 25, 2025) — Newton Abbott firefighters provided mutual aid Monday morning after heavy smoke was reported near South Benzing and Southwestern roads, officials said.
The call came at 7:48 a.m., when Orchard Park EMS and police found a 40-foot section of woods on fire.
Newton Abbott 6 arrived first and, working with Hillcrest 7, stretched a hose line into the woods and quickly brought the blaze under control.
All crews were back in service within an hour.
