Jamison Road firefighters highlight mentorship in training session

ELMA, N.Y. (Aug. 14, 2025) — The Jamison Road Volunteer Fire Company showcased its mentorship program Thursday night during a training session pairing new recruits with experienced members.
Captain Torres worked alongside the company’s newest Basic Exterior Firefighting/Interior Firefighting Operations candidate, Mike, in a hands-on drill.
Officials said the program is designed to ensure new members train with guidance and team support, helping them build confidence and integrate into the department.
