An overnight fire kept Passaic and mutual aid firefighters busy on a very humid September 10th causing extensive damage, but no reported injuries.

Shortly after 3:30 AM, units were dispatched to 15 De Bell Ct., a short dead end street for the report of a fire. The first due truck and engine entered the block while other units had to remain on Bond Street. All family members were confirmed safely out of the home. Flames were traveling up the A/D corner of the 2 ½ story frame dwelling apparently from a garbage can fire. A second alarm was sounded as the fire extended up the walls and into the attic area. Smoke intensified from the attic as companies opened up. Flames broke through the roof in several places, but was quickly knocked down.

The fire was placed under control in about one hour. Companies from Clifton, Paterson, and Wallington worked on the scene.
