GRAND ISLAND, N.Y. (Aug. 23, 2025) — Three Grand Island firefighters completed pump operations training Saturday, preparing them to better manage water supply during emergencies.

Firefighters Dominic Pullano, Sean McMann and Nick Massaro practiced operating apparatus both on hydrants and while drafting. The exercises included flowing multiple lines to appliances such as the aerial, hand lines, blitz fire and deck guns, officials said.

The company noted that the training helps ensure crews can move water quickly and effectively when responding to fires.
